As part of our Stone Age to Iron Age topic, we visited Blackbury Camp.

This local Iron Age settlement was built during the 4th century BC. It was used by an Iron Age tribal people, probably for several hundred years.

We explored the hillfort and discussed some key questions to help us understand and imagine how the settlement would have looked and how life may have been to live all those years ago. We also stopped for an Iron Age picnic, eating our freshly cooked oatcakes and fruited bread.

We ended the afternoon with an invasion game where some of us had to protect or defend the fort.

Look at us in action!
