Year 2 Visit Tesco!
On Wednesday, Mrs Fontes’ class spent the morning in the Seaton Tesco store as part of our Science work on Healthy Eating.
First we met the fishmonger at the fish counter and tried to name all of the different fish. We also got to try some prawns and mussels!
Next we went to the deli counter and tried some cheese and Mediterranean bread.
Then we did a fruit and vegetable hunt together. We looked for different items in the store and had to write down their price and which country they came from. It was really interesting finding out how far some of our food travels!
Finally we had a backstage tour of the store! We went out into the back yard and saw where the lorries deliver the goods, we saw the area where they collect the online orders, we looked around the bakery and we also went in the giant fridge – yes it was really cold!
We had a fantastic morning and want to thank Rhoda for providing us all with a goody bag to take home with us, including two pieces of fruit and lots of activity sheets!
