Sport Relief with Superschools
This year, in preparation for the summer Olympics in Rio and to show our support for Sport Relief, we will be hosting our own fitness circuit event on Monday 14th March. The SuperSchools team will be coming into school along with double Olympian and Commonwealth Games triple jump Champion, Julian Golley, for a morning of whole school participation to raise funds for young aspiring athletes, Sport Relief and our school.
The children raise money by taking part in a simple fitness exercise circuit for which they are sponsored by parents, friends and relatives. Everyone gets a photograph with the guest athlete as a souvenir and a drinks bottle. Julian Golley will take an assembly at the end of the visit, answering questions, talking about how he got into his sport and will be available to sign autographs.
We hope that this fantastic event will inspire and motivate the children to participate in a wide variety of sports, whilst also raising funds to support worthy causes and the school. Medals will be awarded to children who manage to raise, £10, £20 or £30 to show our appreciation for all their effort fundraising. Your child will be bringing home a letter giving more detail about the fantastic work Superschools has been doing over the past 50 years, with a sponsorship form on the back and envelope for the money raised.
We are very grateful for your continuing support and hope that we can raise a fantastic amount for Sport Relief and aspiring future Olympians.
Below are some video tutorials of the 4 exercises the children will be doing during the fitness circuit to help them practice.
