Reception Newsletter 4th July 2019

Dear Parents,

We have had a great week getting very excited about our trip and the prospect of seeing Captain Blackbeard! Thank you to those of you who gave up your time to help us out on our beach trip. The children had a wonderful time and were very tired on the walk back to school!

Reception World of Country Life Trip

Next Friday we will be going to Exmouth to visit The World of Country Life. We will be spending all day there and aim to return to school for a 4pm pickup. Children may wear non-uniform for the day, but please be aware that we will be using play areas, slides and trampolines, so please dress your child with this in mind. We will also be entering animal pens, so trainers are a must. As with our beach trip, your child will need a backpack that is big enough to carry their lunch, water, a snack, sun cream, a hat and a jumper. Some backpacks yesterday were slightly too small to carry everything. We will be leaving our backpacks in an allocated room, so they won’t be carrying them around all day.

Please ensure that you have paid for this trip. If we do not receive enough payments, we will not be able to go. If you are still having problems with the form on parentmail, please go to the office. They will go through the form with you there. Thank you.

New Classes

Tomorrow, your child will come home with a slip to say who their next class teacher will be. If you cannot find this slip, please let us know and we will inform you again.

Reception Party

On Monday 22nd July, Reception will be having an end of year party in the afternoon. We would like to provide party food so will be providing a sign-up sheet outside the classrooms from next week. Please put your name by an item of food that you could provide. Thank you.

Things you could try at home:

  • Talk to your child about moving up to Year 1. How do they feel? What are they excited about? What are they worried about? Give them lots of positives and reassurance if they are a little anxious. They will meet their new teacher soon!
