Reception Newsletter 29th June

Dear Parents and Carers,

We were very proud of all of the reception children for their efforts in sports day last Friday. Please keep your eye on the website as we will be uploading some pictures soon.

Literacy

This week we have really enjoyed learning and writing about real and magical sea creatures this week. Our Literacy sessions next week will explore leaflets and information text on the World of Country Life website. The children will be thinking about what they might like to try on our trip and creating a leaflet style map based on this.

School Trip

If you have not handed in your trip slips yet please do so as a matter of urgency. Your child will not be able to join us without your permission. If you have signed up to provide your own lunch for this trip, please ensure your child brings it on the day as we have pre-ordered our lunches from the kitchen in advance. We require some volunteers for this trip. If you can accompany us for the day, please let us know. Children will wear their own clothes for this trip. Please ensure they have suitable footwear for climbing and entering animal pens. We will keep an eye on the weather forecast but hope to need sunhats.

Library and Reading Challenge Books

Tomorrow we will be collecting in Reading Challenge books. Thank you for supporting this at home, it has been wonderful to see so many children excited about reading and sharing this with you. We still have a number of certificates to award so watch this space! Library books will be collected in on Monday and Tuesday next week, depending on your child’s class.

Reminders

  • We still have swimming every week until further notice. Please keep your eye out for any changes to this.
  • The Summer Fete is coming up on Saturday 8th Hopefully you can all make it for some of the time.

Have a great weekend.
