Reception Newsletter 24th May 2018

Reception Newsletter 24.5.18

Dear Parents,

We are all very excitable today as we know that we have a lovely 10 days off. Fingers crossed for some sunshine!

This week we have once more been revising all of our letters and sounds. We only have two tricky words left to learn this year, and then we will concentrate on securing everything we know, ready for year 1.

After half term we will be learning about time, concentrating on the days of the week and our daily routines. We will have some lovely practical activities going on to help us with this.

We have produced some wonderful writing related to our fantasy creatures this half term. For the rest of the year, we will be learning about the seaside, under the sea and pirates! We are starting with sea creature facts, and will be making whole class fact books for the first two weeks.

Mrs Burkill’s class – Mondays

Miss Mabin’s class – Tuesdays

Things you could try at home

  • Talk about the days of the week with your child. What do you do on each day? Any special clubs or activities?
  • Find out some sea creature facts to talk about at school. You could take a trip to the beach to find some creatures!
