Reception Newsletter 21st June 2018
What lovely weather we have today! Tomorrow is looking to be similar for our trip to the park and beach, so please make sure your child has suncream applied before school and a hat and water bottle. Please check parentmail for a separate letter regarding the beach and what to bring.
Sports Day Lunches
Unfortunately there was an error with the parentmail sports day form and it has selected a school packed lunch and to eat with the teacher for every child! This is very unlikely so we will be putting out sports day lunch forms next week (as we have two sports day coming up) for you to fill in. We apologise for this confusion.
This week we have all been very excited about our pirate topic and the children have been writing messages in a bottle to someone at home. Next week we will be writing pirate stories about how to save Blackbeard’s ship from sinking.
Next week in Maths we will be revisiting addition and subtraction and trying to solve number sentences independently. We will be provided with a number of different practical resources to help us with our working.
Non uniform day
Thursday 28th June is a non-uniform day. Children may wear their own clothes but bring in a bottle of something (juice, sauce, wine, bubble bath) for our fete tombola.
Things you could try at home
- Do some research about pirates. You could use the internet or local library to find some interesting facts.
- Hide some ‘treasure’ in your home or garden. Make a map with your child with fun imaginary landmarks, such as the ‘sofa swamp’ and the ‘deep bath’.
