Reception Newsletter 18th July 2019
We have had a very busy few weeks recently but hopefully are winding down now, with fewer events to update you on. The children had a really wonderful time on our trip to The World of Country Life. Thank you for providing everything that they needed for the day, and an extra big thank you to the parents that helped out on the day. It was fun but tiring!
The Reception party lists are now complete (except one pizza slot if anyone would like to provide!) so thank you all in advance for your generosity. The children should come to school on Monday dressed in school uniform but with party clothes in a separate bag to change into at lunch. They will go home in their party clothes so please make sure their bag is big enough for all of their uniform.
Swimming and PE
This week was the last swimming session for all classes. The children had a Fun Swim session and had lots of fun! Swimming will continue again in Year 1, so look out for information from your child’s new teacher. PE lessons have now finished for the year so there is no need to bring PE kit in. We will send home the bags that are left at school. We always appreciate any donations of PE kit or school uniform if your child has outgrown them as they make useful spares when needed. Please drop them into a teacher or the office if you would like to donate. Thank you.
Menus for next year
The menus for next year will be going home with your child today. Please fill in the options on our usual sheets, which will be outside the classrooms from tomorrow. We will pass this information on to the Year 1 teachers so that they know what your child wants straight away when we return.
Please don’t forget to return the parent response slip back to your child’s teacher. Mrs Burkill’s class reports will go out tomorrow, so you can fill them in over the weekend.
Please can you make sure all school books are returned as soon as possible. This includes reading books, library books and reading challenge books. Thank you.
Year 1 Parent meeting
The Year 1 teachers for next year will be holding an informative meeting next term, outlining the expectations for the year and offering the opportunity to meet the teachers and ask questions. This meeting will be held on Wednesday 11th September, 2:45pm – 3:15pm in the school hall.
