Reception Newsletter 15th March 2018

Dear Parents,

We have had a super week! The children really enjoyed visiting the Science Fair and learning lots about some new and exciting topics. They have all worked very hard this week on writing their favourite parts from the ‘Supertato’ story.

We are really looking forward to seeing many of you on Monday for our parent involvement morning. Please remember to wear super hero layers as there will be outdoor activities and it is likely to be rather cold!

Next week we will continue to revise our Phase 3 and Phase 4 sounds. We will be learning the tricky words ‘do’ and ‘out’. Please keep up the reading at home!

Next week we will be learning about 3D shapes, naming them and describing what they look like. We will also be completing block graphs to find our favourite super powers.

We will be attempting to complete some tricky challenges independently! These include writing shopping lists, letters and labelling a new super villain!

Things to try at home this week

  • Make repeating patterns at home. You could use socks, cutlery (knife, fork, spoon, knife, fork, spoon…), colour Lego blocks, draw your own shapes etc!
  • Make number cards to 20 (or beyond!) with your child. Practise reading them and putting them in order.

Have a great weekend!
