Reception Newsletter 13th July
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had a fantastic week and have been very busy focusing on numbers in maths and learning our ‘tricky’ words in phonics. On Monday the children enjoyed some activity time in the Year One classrooms and using some of their resources. The name of their new teacher/s will be in their report envelope tomorrow. Children will have the opportunity to meet their new teacher/s on Monday.
Next week we will be visiting the beach and park. We assume that all children will be having a school packed lunch unless you inform us by tomorrow morning. Children can wear non-school uniform (sea themed e.g. pirates, sea creatures or bright under the sea clothing). They need to bring a small backpack, water bottle, hat and sun cream. If you would like to join us for the day please let us know.
Please ensure you check at home for reading challenge and library books. We are missing several of these. If you cannot find them, we will be asking for a donation to cover the costs of replacing them. Alternatively, you are welcome to purchase your own replacement copy of lost books.
Next Monday from 3.30 – 6pm will be Open Evening. This is an opportunity for you to come and look at your child’s learning journey and discuss any queries regarding their report. You may also like to meet your child’s new teacher/s and take a look at their classrooms for next year.
Things to try at home
- Make your own bingo game using numbers over 10.
- Share your child’s report with them and talk about some of their favourite moments over the year.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Mabin and Mrs Burkill
