8 September 2016Latest News Parent Year R

Dear Parents,

We have had a lovely week and the children are settling in really well. They have been fantastic at coming in and independently putting away their belongings, which really helps in settling them for the day. Thank you for your support when dropping your child off.

We have a few important notices for you.

Start times

Drop off time is between 8:40am and 8:55am. Any child arriving after this time will be marked as late.

Snack and Water

Our school has a healthy eating policy which means that the snack you provide should be fresh fruit or vegetables only. Children’s water bottles are also for water only, no juice or flavoured water please. If your child has juice, we will refill their bottle with water. Please be assured that children have access to milk at snack time too.

Swimming

Mrs Burkill’s class will swim on Mondays.

Miss Mabin’s class will swim on Tuesdays.

You need to provide your child with; a towel, a swimming hat (available to purchase from the office), a swimming costume/shorts and slip on shoes/sandals to wear down to the pool. You can also provide goggles if your child normally wears these. The children will have access to school floatation aids so please no armbands, thank you.

School Bags

Due to having 60 children across both Reception classes, we have limited storage space in our classrooms and cloakroom. We ask that you please consider this when sending in their school bags. Our school bookbags are the perfect size for our storage boxes and are usually more than sufficient in storing your child’s belongings. Unfortunately, we do not have the space to store big rucksacks.

Thank you for making us feel so welcome during our home visits so far. It has been lovely to get to know you and your family a little better and we are looking forward to our upcoming meetings.

Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions, we are always happy to help!
