Welcome to Year 3!

In Year 3 our aim is to help children adapt to the expectations and changes after moving from KS1 to KS2. We encourage children to become more independent and pro-active learners who are confident to question the world around them. Our curriculum has been developed to incorporate local interests and thematic topics (What makes Seaton special? – Autumn, Stone Age to Iron Age – Spring, Romans – Summer) giving opportunities for creativity and hands-on learning. As a year group, we aim to make use of our amazing local area to visit the coast, beaches, Jurassic centre, local museums, Charmouth and our school forest.

We have high expectations for all of our Year 3 children and expect regular reading and logging on Accelerated Reader, practising spellings using Ed Shed and times tables practise on TT Rockstars. Links for these are available on the Seaton Literacy and Maths pages. We also upload information weekly onto our Google Classroom accounts.

We look forward to an exciting and enjoyable year ahead!

School will be closed from 3.20pm on Friday 20th March 2020 until further notice. In order to continue to support learning when the children are not here, we have put together some information sheets that may provide you with some very useful support for learning at home. Further information for Essential Workers is available in another post.
