Science Week - Eco Bricks

During Science week, children across the school were visited by Coreus. They taught us about the dangers of plastic pollution, how long different plastic items take to decompose and ways that plastic is affecting our world. Coreus shared a range of ways that we can help with plastic pollution; using reusable bottles, not using plastic straws, use alternatives to cling film such as beeswax and use single soft plastics to make EcoBricks. The children learnt how to make their own Ecobricks using clean, dry plastic and stuffing it into a plastic bottle until the bottle is dense and solid. These Ecobricks can be used for community building projects. The children thoroughly enjoyed making their own sustainable Ecobricks.
