Welcome to Year 4’s Class Page!

Mr LewisIn Year 4 our aim is  to encourage children to become more independent and pro-active learners. We believe that they should begin to use their initiative to drive their own educational development, to better prepare them for Years 5 & 6.

Homework plays an important part in developing independent learners and gives parents an opportunity to see what the children are learning in school. Homework is usually set on a Friday and is due in on Tuesday, should the children have a problem completing the task on time, an extension can be agreed with the class teacher.

Please explore our blog for information and pictures giving you an insight into all the exciting activities we get up to this year.

20 children took part in 3 events at the Devon Summer School Games Finals at Plymouth.
We have received a visit from Helen Parr of the Devon Greater Horseshoe Bat Project, this has inspired us to work together to become a Bat Friendly school.
On Friday 9th June, the whole school enjoyed a special morning, celebrating and learning about Christian weddings. We held a mock wedding at St Gregory’s church where Danielle and Thomas played the part of the bride and groom, and a girl and boy from every class played the parts of bridesmaids and ushers. A big thank you to Rev Jeremy Trew at St Gregory’s Church who led the service and to Just Flowers of Seaton who very generously donated the flowers. We had a great time dressing up, don’t the children scrub up well!
