We have received a visit from Helen Parr of the Devon Greater Horseshoe Bat Project, this has inspired us to work together to become a Bat Friendly school.
Year 1 have had an excellent week building up to and celebrating the Seaton Wedding.
On Friday afternoon, children from Year 1 and Year 2 took part in a swimming gala to represent Seaton Primary. All the children swam brilliantly and were great representatives. The children's efforts paid off, as we were crowned the winners at the end of the gala!
On Friday 9th June, the whole school enjoyed a special morning, celebrating and learning about Christian weddings. We held a mock wedding at St Gregory’s church where Danielle and Thomas played the part of the bride and groom, and a girl and boy from every class played the parts of bridesmaids and ushers. A big thank you to Rev Jeremy Trew at St Gregory’s Church who led the service and to Just Flowers of Seaton who very generously donated the flowers. We had a great time dressing up, don’t the children scrub up well!
On Tuesday, Year 1 and Year 6 got together to do some arts and crafts on the theme of bats following an assembly from the Devon Greater Horseshoe Bat Project. The children worked really well as a team and have made many different bat models, including some from pom-poms, tubes, split-pins and origami. Both year groups seemed to enjoy the afternoon and got a lot out of it.
