Phased re-opening of school
Seaton Primary School has been closed to all pupils since 19th March 2020 due to the global outbreak of Covid-19. Pupils who are considered to be vulnerable or whose parents are essential workers have continued to attend the school.
The school is undertaking a phased re-opening which will focus on returning Year 1 and Year 6 pupils to school to begin with.
After the Summer half term, Seaton Primary School will re-open on Tuesday 2nd June for children of critical workers or vulnerable children only. It will remain open to these children all week until the end of term.
The week beginning 8th June the school will be open to children in Year 1 all day on Monday and Tuesday.
The week beginning 15th June the school will be open to children in Year 1 and Year 6 pupils all day on Monday and Tuesday.
The week beginning 22nd June, the school will be open to children in Year 1 and Year 6 all day Monday to Thursday. The school will be closed to these year groups on a Friday so the areas can be thoroughly cleaned and for teachers to prepare for the following week.
The school Governors and Senior Leadership Team have taken this decision to start with these year groups to ensure that the school is able to follow the Government’s health and safety guidance including social distancing. The school is currently reviewing when the Reception pupils can safely return.
Pupils will be taught in groups or pods of up to fifteen. Pupils will not be allowed to switch between pods as of the 8th June so they have to remain with one of the four groups that the school is offering –
Reception / KS 1 Essential workers / vulnerable children
KS2 Essential workers / vulnerable children
